All About BlackBerry

REM’s BlackBerry has become a very popular name in the mobile phone industry. While it is a brand name, many people simply refer to a Smartphone device as a Blackberry. Even though these phones have been around for a while, there are still many mobile phone users who ask, what is a Blackberry and how does it work? These handheld wireless devices offer users easy access to email, calendars and mobile organisers. Blackberries differ from PDAs because they offer a full alphanumeric keyboard.

This device was primarily designed for sending and retrieving email through a mobile phone. Since their introduction, Blackberry devices have become more advanced. They now offer the ability to run various applications, perform internet downloads, act as a web browser and much more. A Blackberry may sound like a mini PC, but it is quite different. While users will have the ability to store email messages, the device will not store documents.

Social networking and messaging became much easier with the introduction of this device. Users are also able to use the efficient installed camera to shoot and upload photos and other multimedia files. New Blackberry models also have a built-in GPS that allows for geographical tracking.

Even though this mobile device was originally created to manage email, Blackberries now offer so much more. They are an all-in-one mobile phone that allows for instant organisation, constant email connection and web browsing.
