The Blackberry Curve 8520 is the first device to be announced by RIM (Research In Motion) this year, and is a long overdue addition to its range of Smartphones. The Curve 8520 will supersede the relatively old Curve 8320, but unfortunately it’s not as supped up as you’d expect it to be.
Firstly, the Curve 8520 does not support 3G, but does have Wi-Fi connectivity as well as it being a quad-band device. The second down side is the camera, which is only a basic 2 megapixel unit with no flash.
Those down points aside, the Blackberry Curve 8520 is a pretty decent device, featuring a host of new software and hardware updates including a handy mini touchpad instead of the usual trackball for navigation and a range of keyboard shortcuts to load up various applications.
Being a Blackberry, the Curve 8520 supports Microsoft Office documents and a variety of other file formats. It has a powerful multimedia player and a 3.5mm headphone socket, as well as support for video files.
RIM state that the Blackberry Curve 8520 will be available in Europe this month on a variety of networks and will be exclusive to T-Mobile in the US. Prices are to be confirmed.

It doesnt have a trackball which might put some people off the phone.
The 8900 is still the one for me.
