Broadband deals

There are many adverts on TV, in magazines and on the internet offering a whole host of broadband deals with some bargains to be had however some are not as good as they seem and may not benefit you in any way so before signing up to anything its worth checking if  you can enjoy the deals offered.

Most importantly is making sure the broadband deal you want is available in your area, as not all broadband deals are available to every address in the UK, for example Sky package broadband is not available in all area’s in the UK because they don’t always have their set up’s in exchanges. To find out if you can have certain deal you can enter your phone number and/or postcode into a postcode checker on a broadband comparison site to show what you can and can’t get in your area.

Sometimes packages offered by some providers are only available if you swap you phone provider to them as well, you need to keep n mind if this will be cost effective in the long run especially if you currently have a good deal with your current phone provider.

Is the offer or deal for the whole contract period? Some offers are only available as an introductory offer so you need to check how long it lasts some offer the cheap rate for only the 3 first months then you have to pay full for the remainder of your contract.

Some contracts with cheap deals may seem like a good idea but they may also have other hidden costs which can occur when switching such as a connection charge or activation fee which can be up to £50, these are normally packages with no contract, those that are contract based normally mean you are tied into it for at least a year to 18 months.

Its important to remember when comparing broadband and mobile broadband that you read all the small print, you may find the deal is not what you thought when it’s too late to change.
