HTC has announced its third and newest Android mobile phone called the HTC Hero. Demonstrating the evolution of the Android operating system, the HTC Hero features a new user interface called HTC Sense, which is says is now even easier to use.
The HTC Hero, as you would expect has quad band GSM, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity all accessible from the 3.2 inch touchscreen display. A trackball is also included for alternative navigation and a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus is mounted on the back.
Memory is taken care of with a microSD card slot and files can be uploaded to the device via mini USB or Bluetooth. A full blown multimedia player is also included, capable of playing various audio and video files; a 3.5mm headphone socket is also built in.
The HTC Hero measures 112 x 56.2 x 14.4mm and weighs 135 grams, which is slightly smaller than the iPhone 3GS, but is still able to cram in a GPS receiver with A-GPS support.
The HTC Hero is due for release on the 24th July for £429 sim free; it will be available for free on T-Mobile’s £40 a month contracts and come in brown or white.
