New Google Search Tool – Goggles

Google have developed a new visual search tool called Goggles, available on Google Android Mobiles you can search for information about famous landmarks, logo’s or works of art by using a photograph. With the free application available from Android Marketplace, you can focus your camera on an object and Google will try and match parts of the picture with images from their database, it works best with stationary objects like artwork, books and DVD’s. If you wish to find out more information about a landmark all you have to do is hold your mobile near your [place of interest and then Google will use your mobiles compass and GPS to determine what the place is, it will then display the name on the camera view finder.

Google have also announced that you will be able to see real-time news from Twitter on its search results, Google have said “Now, immediately after conducting a search, you’ll be able to see live updates from people on popular sites like Twitter and Friendfeed, as well as headlines from news and blog posts that have been published seconds ago. All of these updates are ranked to show the freshest, most relevant results related to what you’re looking for.”
