Nokia’s new 5730 XpressMusic comes with dual keyboards

Nokia has announced three new devices to add to its ever expanding XpressMusic range. The models are the 5730, 5330 and 5030, but for this article will be concentrating on the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic.

Taking inspiration from Nokia’s N95, the 5730 XpressMusic has both a numerical keypad on the front and a secondary slide out QWERTY keyboard, designed to be easy to use when typing text messages and longer emails. Being an XpressMusic phone, the 5730 has dedicated media keys and will come in a range of colours including red, blue, pink and grey.

This quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G device sports a 2.4 inch TFT screen, supports both Wi-Fi and 3G and has a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optic and LED flash. A secondary VGA camera is also mounted on the front for video calls and a microSD card slot is built-in for expandable memory; the device will take up to 16GB with an 8GB card bundled in with the package.

GPS navigation is also supported and the device is powered by the Symbian S60 operating system. A fully fledged multimedia player is included with built-in FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone socket for ease of use.

The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic measures 112 x 51 x 15.4mm, which is pretty small for a dual keyboard device and weighs around 135 grams. Bluetooth and USB connections are included to transfer music and video files and the battery is good for up to 270 hours standby and 4 hours of talk time.

The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is pencilled in for a Q3 release date; there is no word on price or availability yet.
