Nokia N86 – Nokia’s first 8 megapixel camera phone

Nokia has unveiled its first 8 megapixel camera phone, the Nokia N86. With a similar design to other N-series devices such as the Nokia N85 and Nokia N96 and having a similar feature list, the Nokia N86’s camera is the main addition, with its Carl Zeiss lens and dual LED flash.

The Nokia N86 boasts a pretty standard 2.6 inch OLED screen and a dual slider design; slide the device up to reveal a numerical keypad and down to reveal the multimedia buttons. The handset also features both HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation with A-GPS support and fully functional media player.

Internal memory is 8GB and a microSD card slot is also built-in to expand the memory by an additional 16GB, perfect for all of your audio and video files. Bluetooth and USB connections are also included for transferring files and a 3.5mm headphone socket means you can use standard headphones.

All in all the Nokia N86 is a great little device, even if it is a slightly upgraded version of the N96, with similar styling and many of the same features, apart that is from the 8 megapixel camera. Nokia say the N86 will be available in Q2 of 2009; expect network availability and price to be similar to the Nokia N96.
