Nokia N97 mini – all the power with less space!

Nokia has announced a second N97 touchscreen device, the N97 Mini. Although the Nokia N97 has only been out for a couple of months, it has proven to be a popular, albeit bulky device, which has inspired the Nokia team to produce the N97 Mini.

The N97 Mini is 9% smaller than the original N97, measuring 113 x 52.5 x 14.2mm and weight 12 grams less at 138 grams. Because of its reduced size, the Nokia N97 Mini’s internal memory has shrunk to 8GB instead of 32GB, but this will be amble for most people and can be expanded by up to a further 16GB using the built in microSD card slot.

This quad-band device features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display and slide out QWERTY keyboard, as well as 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone socket and a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash; a secondary front mounted VGA camera is mounted on the front for video calls.

A powerful multimedia player is also included, capable of playing a wide range of music and video files and an in-built radio is also incorporated if you fancy a change. The Nokia N97 Mini also boasts GPS navigation and a document viewer for popular files such as Word, PDF and PowerPoint.

The Nokia N97 Mini is due for release in October; there is no word on price or availability yet, but expect it to be cheaper than the original N97.
