Samsung S5230

Samsung has announced another device to add to its already plentiful touchscreen range, the Samsung S5230. This device is aimed at the mid-range market and because of this, it lacks both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, which will no doubt put some people off.

The Samsung S5230 is quad-band and has a 3 inch TFT touchscreen display with accelerometer sensor built-in. The S5230 also features a 3.15 megapixel camera with smile detection and a microSD card slot capable of holding up to 8GB cards.

Samsung’s renowned TouchWiz interface is also installed, so you can effortlessly navigate around the phone and a media player is also onboard, together with Bluetooth and USB connections for transferring your music and audio files.

The device itself is pretty basic and is set to rival the LG KP500 Cookie when it comes out, which is currently the cheapest pay as you go touchscreen. Samsung has said that the S5230 will be available from April this year; pricing and network availability are TBC.
