Sky looking to dominate broadband

When it comes to choosing a broadband bundle there really isn’t as much choice as in other areas, the big players a Sky, Virgin Media and BT, so you would expect there not to be that much competition right? Well there is and there isn’t when you compare broadband deals between the big 3 players you also have to look at what else you get from them, including phone lines and most importantly TV channel choice.

To entice people to choose sky as a provider for TV, phone and broadband, Sky have announced this week what they will be offering in the future, this includes: broadcasting England cricket match in 3D at the start of next month and to show all of the England football side’s away qualifiers for Euro 2012 after gaining the rights.

On top of the TV enticement sky have launched a bundle described in promotions as “a fairytale deal”, which will give you more accessible services, 20Mbps broadband, UK evening and weekend calls and TV services for £19 a month. It’s not certain yet if any of the other broadband providers will be offering anything as tempting as this, but it would be probably worth their while to up their ante, at least then it’s the consumer benefiting!
