Sony Ericsson has followed up on its popular XPERIA Smartphone range with the new XPERIA X2 device featuring the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The XPERIA X2 takes a similar form to its predecessor the X1, featuring a slide out QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen display and Sony Ericsson’s ‘Panels’ interface.
This quad-band Smartphone includes a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. A secondary video call camera is mounted on the front and a range of multimedia options are also available, including a fully fledged music and video player, TV out connection and a 3.5mm headphone socket.
An expandable microSD card slot is built in to store up to 16GB of files and data on, and the XPERIA X2 also features GPS navigation and Pocket Office capable of reading various Word, Excel and PDF documents.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 measures 110 x 54 x 16mm and weighs 155 grams, which is near enough the same as the XPERIA X1 device, but if Sony Ericsson can get this device out soon and more importantly with no major bugs then it could just ruffle a few feathers in the Smartphone market.
The XPERIA X2 is due out sometime during Q4 this year; there has been no confirmation on price or availability yet.

never been keen on Sony Ericson’s, I’ve always found them hard to use and get on with
