The Dell Streak

Hot on the heels of the iPad launch this week O2 have announced they are to launch the Dell Streak Android tablet in the UK in early June, meaning they will be the first network provider to stock it.

The Streak is essentially a larger version of an Android phone, the tablet has a 5-inch captive touchscreen, smaller than the iPad, and comes with 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well as GPS, much like most other Android devices. It also has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and offers memory expansion through a microSD slot with 2GB internal memory as well.

The Streak also comes with a 5MP camera on the back with dual LED flash, with a VGA version on the front too for video calling. It will also easily be able to play Flash video with Android 2.1 (with a Froyo 2.2 update scheduled later this year) as well as GPS turn-by-turn routing thanks to Google Maps Navigation.

There still is no exact UK release date beyond early June, or tariffs along with the US.
