The Nokia X3 Touch & Type

With most new mobiles coming out now only offering a touch screen its quite refreshing to have a mobile phone review on Nokia’s latest offering which has both a touch screen and a keypad, this mid range “candy bar” phone may prove to be popular especially for those who are not confident using just a touch screen and prefer to still be able to use a key pad.

Not only is it reasonably priced, (expected to be around £100) it also has plenty of useful features such as a 5 megapixel camera with QVGA video capture at 20 frames per second, it also has 3.5G connection that supports HSPA high-speed data and also WiFi, plus a multimedia player and FM radio. The X3 has a 2.4″ 240 x 320 pixel display which is standard for a monoblock phone, however not many offer touchscreen capabilities as this one does, which is great for those who are not fully ready to commit to the touch screen generation.

As with most new phones now the X3 also offers applications for social media with a “Communities” client that allows access to Facebook and Twitter, Instant Messaging and access to the Ovi Store, but the X3 is not a smartphone it actually runs a touch-enabled version of the simple but familiar Series 40operating system.

The lightweight Nokia X3 Touch & Type is available in White Silver, Dark Metal, Petrol Blue, Pink and Lilac.
